3 Day EXPO

Ok..it's been a while since my last post. It seems like everywhere I go people are asking me how my training is going. Now that baseball is over (we were there hours everyday), I am starting to really train harder. Yesterday, that meant 7 1/2 miles in the mid afternoon heat, but I loved it. This weekend, and every other weekend until the walk in October, the miles are long. I have no idea how I'm going to squeeze them in with our busy lives...but I'll do the best I can!

Saturday I attended the 3 Day EXPO with my team and learned some great ideas and tips. It was very motivating. I am so excited and can not wait until the actual walk. It's going to be a lot of fun!

24 Week Training Schedule has begun.....

Everyone has been asking how my training is going. Well, I just finished the first week in the suggested 24 week training program. It was very easy, 3 miles Sunday, 3 miles Tuesday, 3 miles Thursday and 3 miles Saturday. The miles will gradually increase every week. This is the part I'm going to truly enjoy - because I love to walk. I hope to be able to stick to the program as much as possible. It's summer and the kids are home, so it's going to be challenging to fit in all my miles. I may have to learn to love the treadmill and use it some days.

SUPER EXCITED!!!!!

My mother held a bridge for boobs fundraiser at her house yesterday. We had 20 wonderful women who came to play bridge and support the Breast Cancer 3-Day. I raised $675 and it brings my total to $2,164. I'm almost there!

Fundraising.....

Well, I've almost reached my fundraising goal and I'm so excited! In order to participate, you have to raise at least $2,300. My website currently shows $1,339, but I've sent in another $100 from our last skate night. My mother is doing a bridge benefit next week which should bring in about $500. This means I'm almost to $2,000. I'm pretty amazed at the generosity of people and excited to get to just TRAINING!!! The 24 week training program begins in about 10 days, so I'm ready to walk, walk, walk!!!!

The Skate-A-Long employees are AWESOME! They are so nice, helpful, and willing to help out a great cause. I would love for tons of people to show up next month...to support the fight against Breast Cancer, as well as support such a great local skating rink.
